Wildcards
A short trigger typed in any ServiceNow script field, expanded into a full snippet.
A wildcard is a trigger and a body. Define one with the trigger gr and a GlideRecord skeleton,
and then, in any platform script editor, typing [gr] replaces it with your snippet the moment you
close the bracket.
It works in the platform's own editors, not only inside HolySN: business rules, script includes, client scripts, the widget editor.
Put $0 in the body to mark where the cursor should land after the expansion.
A trigger is up to 32 characters: letters, digits, underscore and hyphen.
Where they live
Per profile, and synced. They follow you to any machine you sign in on, and switching profile switches the set.
That is deliberate. The snippets you want at one customer are usually not the ones you want at another, and a single global list becomes a list nobody reads.
Why the brackets
The expansion happens on the closing bracket, inside the page's own editors, which means the
extension is watching what you type in a field that belongs to ServiceNow. The bracket is what makes
that unambiguous: gr on its own is a variable name in half the scripts on the instance, and an
expansion that fired on a bare word would be an expansion that fires when you did not mean it.
